Salary: £9.90 - £10.15 per hour

(£9.90 per hour to 31st March 2022.  From 1st April 2022 the rate increases to £10.10 per hour for all staff, and £10.15 for staff with QCF/NVQ awards in H&SC)

Overtime pay:  Regular overtime available at an additional £1 per hour weekdays or £1.50 per hour weekends on top of your hourly rate of pay.

Rota: 47 hours and 15 minutes per week, 3 on 3 off, to include evenings and weekend working

Established in 1968 by a group of forward thinking parents who were concerned at the lack of services available for their children we have since expanded to cover Cheshire and Wales offering tailored person centered care to the individuals we work with.

Requirements of Support Worker:

  • Basic understanding of autism
  • Be able to work flexible hours and shift patterns
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic IT skills

Responsibilities of Support Worker:

  • Accompanying the people we support to leisure activities and outings
  • Attending to the personal care of people we support such as toileting (washing/bathing if required)
  • Administering medication as and when required (full training provided)
  • Supporting people we support through times when they are feeling anxious and may result in them displaying risk behaviours

 What I will be doing as a Residential Support Worker:

  • Accompanying people we support to leisure activities/outings, enabling them to acquire independence, whilst at the same time encouraging them to integrate as a group and gain and develop social skills.
  • Accompanying people we support to appointments – e.g. the doctors, dentist, hairdressers.
  • Helping prepare lunch with the people we support – ensuring they have a healthy and balanced diet and that dietary requirements are met.
  • Helping the people we support with their personal hygiene and personal care needs – helping to the toilet, changing pads and washing.
  • Maintaining the standard of living within the house – ensuring it is clean and tidy and encouraging the people we support to participate in cleaning and tidying activities.
  • Administering medication as and when required (full training provided).    
  • Supporting people we support through times when they are feeling anxious and may result in them displaying risk behaviours.
