Hours: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week to be worked on a rota basis which will be arranged locally, which includes evenings and weekends

Requirements of a Team Leader:

    • Knowledge of people with learning difficulties
    • Basic understanding of people with autism
    • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to encourage and motivate others
    • Various approaches to communication (e.g. PECS and Makaton)

 What I will be doing as a Team Leader:

To take responsibility for the operational running of the service under the direction and guidance of the Registered Manager.

To lead shifts within the service under the direction of the Registered Manager.

To dispense medication and ensure the smooth running of the team and the correct deployment of staff and the organisation of structured daily activities for people we support.

To actively support the development of autism specific techniques and approaches to support individuals living within the service.

To be responsible for the direct supervision of a team of staff, to give bi-monthly supervisions and annual Performance Appraisals.

The Team Leader will support the Registered Manager with responsibility for the health, welfare and emotional development of the people we support within the service.
