Main Purpose of the Post:

To assist with the laundry across our brand new Respite building, to clean areas within the specified building, and their environs, in a safe, efficient manner meeting specified standards of cleanliness.

Responsible to:

The Service Manager or the Quality & Development Manager of Community & Vocational Services and ultimately the Chief Executive

Relationships:

To establish and maintain good working relationships with all staff and clients.

Location:

Brand new Respite Service on Raby Hall Site (Bromborough)

Physical Conditions:

Work is performed in standing and sitting positions. The work is predominately undertaken indoors. Lifting and carrying is also involved.

MAIN TASKS:

  1. Separate laundry, load and unload the machines ensuring that all clothes are washed and dried at the correct temperatures.
  2. To ensure that all labels are marked with the correct names on them, identifying any items of clothing that are poor quality and report them to the line manager. 
  3. To ensure that the clients personal possessions are treated with respect.
  4. The cleaning of toilets, floors, walls, furniture, fittings, appliances etc. to the methods and  frequencies as specified, by the Registered Manager of the service.
  5. The carrying out of all non-cleaning tasks and resident related duties to the method and frequencies specified by the Registered Manager of the service.
  6. To report any faults or defects within the fabric of the building, to the Registered Manager, also to ensure the building is secure at the end of the assigned working period.
  7. To work under the Health And Safety Guidelines and C.O.S.H.H., (The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.) and to store all toxic substances in a safe and appropriate manner.
  8. To ensure that the domestic equipment is in good order, and to look after same, and report any repair or faults to the Registered Manager and or Quality & Development Manger of Residential Services.
  9. To monitor a monthly list of cleaning stuffs, and submit these to the Registered Manager to enable them to order appropriate cleaning items from the suppliers.
  10. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the designated work area and its environs and to observe safe working methods, at all times.
  11. Where appropriate, to undertake training, conducive to personal role development.

OTHER:

To undertake, in exceptional circumstances, any additional duties, which may from time to time be required by the Chief Executive and in his/her absence, the Director of Client Services.

As with all posts, a high degree of confidentiality is expected at all times. At no times will the post holder discuss the clients, staff or any other matter connected with the Autism Together, outside of the organisation.
